WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT

Wildlife Management

The way you manage your forest will ultimately impact the wildlife that reside on your property. We love wildlife as much as you do, and we will work with the goals you have in order to get the most out of your property. We are constantly learning new ways to improve land for specific wildlife so learn with us!

Deer Management Plans

We know white-tailed deer is the number one game animal in Minnesota and across the US, for that reason we have developed deer specific management plans. With QDMA (now national deer management association) Deer Steward I and II training and having worked with QDMA, Jaden with Northland Habitat LLC will be able to create a custom plan to increase the overall deer herd on your land. The plan will provide private landowners a one on one site visit and tour your property to discuss opportunities for property enhancement projects that will allow your land to hold higher quantity and quality deer.

The plan will include:

  • Habitat improvement

  • Timber Management

  • Sanctuary Development

  • Native Vegetation Management

  • Food Plot Design

  • Prescribed Fire

  • Trail Design

  • Invasive Species Removal

  • Herd Monitoring

  • Stand Placement and Access

  • Herd Management

  • Trail Camera Techniques

  • Timber Management

  • Predator Management

Mature white-tailed deer can be established anywhere in its range with the correct management. With an ecosystem approach, let us improve the overall health of your land for white-tailed deer and other game species. If Turkey, Grouse, or other game species are of interest we can tailor to that landowner as well.

Woodland Stewardship Plan

As a private landowner you want the best for your woods, wildlife, and water. In order to get the best out of your property having a plan in place is a must. A Woodland Stewardship Plan will address your goals for your property which can include but not limited to: Increasing wildlife habitat, maintaining ecological diversity, increasing forest cover, maintaining open areas for high quality forage, and timber harvesting for overall health of your timber. Why not get rewarded for your hard work? After you have a written plan you are able to qualify for two different tax break programs. Get started with your Stewardship Plan here.

Timber Stand Improvements

Wildlife management and timber stand improvements go hand in hand. Young forest habitat and regenerating forest stands is important for the future health of forests as well as a majority of wildlife. A variety of wildlife need diversity in their habitat and timber harvests will do just that. Whether it is a recommendation from our Stewardship Plans, Deer Management Plans, or you are just interested in a timber harvest for forest health, we will work with the landowner to accomplish your timber management goals. With 30 plus years in the timber market industry, we can find the right contractor for you to get the job done the right way. We will oversee the project to make sure it follows the landowner’s goals for the property and to ensure a satisfied outcome.
